I read and reread this series rabidly as a kid, and picked them up again this year as I was getting over a reading slump. Needless to say, I loved them just as much now as I did when I was a kid. They’re such clever books, funny and absorbing while also being super dark and depressing. I love the sheer joy of the morphing, I love the complex worldbuilding, I love the dark tone, I love the characters… I love it all, really!

Another quick note: my severe underage dnw sort of applies but less severely (no underage sexual content between characters under 12). My kidfic dnw is similar, in that I'd prefer no non-canon kid characters but am obviously fine with the animorphs being their canon ages.

Ax/Tobias

I love the bond between these two. Obviously they’re uncle and nephew, but even before that was revealed there was something special between them. I love how close they are, I love how they have each other’s backs and I love how they bond over being outsiders. They’re both super great characters, and I would love to see what their bond could’ve progressed into.

I started watching this over the winter of 2020, and I am SO glad that I did. It was just the perfect thing to watch over a very cold, very dark winter. I love how sun soaked it is, how fun it is, how epic it feels and how it weaves in so much mythology and history and just general fun action-adventure stuff. It’s just an absolutely lovely game to play/watch, and I’ve been enjoying it so much and loving absolutely every character. I’d love to get fic for it!

I already knew that I’d love these two together even before we met Brasidas, and then I did meet Brasidas and I LOVE THEM. I love them so much! This is absolutely one of my favourite series, and if you’ve read it I’m sure you know why. Interesting plots, Historical accuracy AND a relationship between the two main characters so endearing that I had to keep putting my copy of the book down to clutch my face with glee. I loved their dynamic in the books, and I really want to see more of it. Especially in a romantic sense. I feel that there’s a hell of a lot of potential for a really interesting romantic relationship there, and I’d absolutely love to see somebody explore that!

My stance on infidelity here is that while I'd rather it not be a thing, I can understand how it could be difficult to avoid and don't want you to tie yourself up in knots over it! I'd prefer it to be something where Helen doesn't appear/never got together with Avery or stated/heavily implied polyamory (in that Helen is fine with it, even if it takes a while), but as long as it isn't 1000 odd words of Avery angsting over/reveling in cheating on his wife I should be beyond fine!

I really enjoy the Cadfael Chronicles. They're just an incredible amount of fun. They're the perfect mixture of complex mystery paired with just a really reassuring tone/portrayal of the world, and they're the perfect comfort read for a rainy day. I really love the historical setting, I really love the crimes that they have to solve and I especially love the characters and the interactions between them.

Brother Cadfael/Hugh Beringar

I just love them both so much! I love how Cadfael is so smart, but is also always so kind and knows a lot more about the way of the world than pretty much everybody around him. I love how Hugh is incredibly cunning and a touch ruthless, but is also really loyal to those he cares about and willing to bend the rules just a little if it means protecting people. I find their friendship really interesting, the way they balance each other and seem to genuinely adore each other despite all the differences between them, and I'd love to perhaps see an expansion of that.

My stance on infidelity here is, again, that while I'd rather it not be a thing, I can understand how it could be difficult to avoid and don't want you to tie yourself up in knots over it! I'd prefer it to be stated/heavily implied polyamory (in that Aline is fine with it) or even just something where Aline doesn't appear/never got together with Hugh, but as long as it isn't 1000 odd words of Hugh angsting over/reveling in cheating on his wife I should be beyond fine!

I'd also prefer fairly minimal to non-existent religious angst about whether wanting to have sex with another man in the middle ages is a sin or not.

I absolutely adored these books! I’ve watched My Fair Lady about once, perhaps twenty years ago, but I feel these stand very well by themselves. They’re just so good. I finished binge watching this series lately and I absolutely love it. It’s just so good! I love the complexity of the plots, I love all the historical flavour and I love the work they put into developing the characters. They’re really engrossing watches, and I’ve found myself absolutely obsessed with them for a while now. I would absolutely adore more fic for this fandom!

John Bacchus/George Gently

I ADORE the relationship between these two. It’s basically absolute catnip to me, and has been since pretty much the first season. One is a grumpy older cop with a heart of gold and a hell of a lot of stubbornness, one is a dickhead younger cop who has a lot of unexamined prejudices but always means well. Their relationship is one of tension and struggle, but they’re also SO loyal to each other and care SO much about each other and are just perfect together on every single level. I would love to receive some fic for them!

I’m fine waiving my infidelity DNW for this fandom, if you want to set your fic around series 1-2. The fact of the matter is that John canonically cheats on his wife, so I’m fine with him doing it in a fic too. As long as it isn't 1000 odd words of John angsting over/reveling in cheating on his wife I should be beyond fine!

I'm also fine with you mentioning John's canonical divorce. I'd prefer for it not to be shown "on screen" or dwelled on for 1000 words, but otherwise I'm fine with it.

Ah, yet another slightly obscure crime series that I really enjoy! The Restoration series is, as the title implies, set in the Restoration and is a lot of fun. I like the little period details, I like the intricacies of the mysteries and I really like how the two come together in a lot of interestingly tense ways. The ways that Puritans and Cavaliers (and even Puritan and Cavalier leaning people!) interact in this series is fascinating to me, and a big part of the reason as to why I keep coming back.

Christopher/Jonathan

I ADORE Christopher and Jonathan and the relationship between them. They start off a little tense with each other, one being a Cavalier leaning dude and the other being fairly Puritan, but quickly grow into a really strong and lasting partnership. I think the fifth book calls them "unlikely soulmates" (and, yeah, if you have matched on another thing and are just idly reading through the rest of this letter TOTALLY A REASON TO READ THESE BOOKS), and that's basically the only way I can see them now. I love how supportive they are of each other, how well they compliment each other and how much they just GET each other despite all their differences.

My stance on infidelity here is, again, that while I'd rather it not be a thing, I can understand how it could be difficult to avoid and don't want you to tie yourself up in knots over it! I'd prefer it to be stated/heavily implied polyamory (in that Sarah is fine with it, and maaaaaybe banging Susan in the background), but as long as it isn't 1000 odd words of Jonathan angsting over/revelling in cheating on his wife I should be beyond fine!

This is a (so far) three book mystery series set in the reign of Henry II, and I just really love every single part of it. The writing is excellent, the mysteries are really interesting (especially the one in book 2) and I just absolutely ADORE the characters. It's a really interesting, really fun, really diverse series that I absolutely love and I would be so excited to get fic for it.

Stanton/Barling

A big part of why I love this series so much is these two. I love these two SO MUCH. They're absolutely adorable. Barling is a stuffy clerk who is a bit of a snob all things considered, but has a heart of gold underneath and a really strong commitment to justice (and is also canonically gay, which is nice for detective fiction). Stanton is a bit irresponsible and tends to be reckless, but is super loyal to those he loves and super understanding in so many ways.

Together they're absolutely wonderful and I adore them. I love how they banter with each other, I love the quickly growing trust between them and I especially love how they're so very loyal to each other. They truly care about each other, truly regard each other as important and aren't shy about showing it, and I'd absolutely love to see more of their dynamic.

Taskmaster! I picked up this series casually, because a friend said that I’d like it, and then ended up binging all (at that point) 11 series within a month and a half. This show just fills me with such profound joy. I love the chaos, I love the sense of humour and I love how it feels genuinely kind hearted even when it’s forcing the contestants to do truly insane shit. It’s a lovely show, and any fic for it would be very much appreciated.

Greg/Alex

I’m not really sure what dynamic these two have going on, but I am VERY into it. I mean, putting a full on BDSM relationship like that on TV… Fair play to them. I’m mainly into these two because I think there’s a lot of fun potential to do really kinky shit with them, so feel free to lean into that as much as possible. There are a lot of really hot avenues to be explored here, bouncing off their canon dynamic, and I am here for all of them.

I started watching this canon mid-2020, as a light way to get away from 2020, and god do I adore it. It’s just so much fun! I love the political plotting, I love the witty wordplay and I LOVE all the characters and how they interact with each other. It’s a wonderfully deft political comedy, that also manages to say a lot of actual things about the way British politics works, and I just really enjoy it.

I nominated and requested as Yes Minister, but if you want to bring things that happen in Yes Prime Minister into play then I have absolutely no problem with that. I have seen both! It’s just hard to know how to nominate a canon that changes its name halfway through…

Humphrey/Hacker

Of course I passionately ship these two, they’re right up my alley in terms of dynamics. Humphrey is just such a bastard, so put together and scheming and selfish. Hacker, by contrast, is generally a lot more moral and well meaning but also has a decided scheming side and is a lot more intelligent than he acts. Together they’re just wonderful, constantly struggling with each other and morally opposed but also surprisingly good at working together when the situation calls for it and often seeming to have a strange (and involuntary) level of mutual respect for each other. They’re just great, and I’d love to see loads more stuff for them.

I loved this show and thought it ended its run with a bang - that last episode left everyone in a really good place, particularly Jake and Rosa. I adore Jake/Amy, but I've always been curious to see how Jake/Rosa could happen in a world in which Jake and Amy aren't into each other. I love that Jake and Rosa are best friends from the academy and that they have a special bond and even that they seem to see being a cop similarly.

If you're new to this fandom, let me give you a quick summary: Paul's parents divorced when he and his sister were young children, and his dad, who returns to England every so often, takes young Paul to his first football match and Paul falls madly in love with Arsenal. The team becomes the love of his life, even after he grows up and becomes an English lit teacher (and football coach); his best friend, Steve (who appears to have some sort of finance job), is his usual companion when watching Arsenal on TV or at the stadium, and Paul's mum and sister also start supporting the team at first to boost him and then on their own. Enter Sarah Hughes, the humorless history teacher new to Paul's school, who complains about him and scolds him and falls into bed with him. They carry out a seemingly joyless relationship — it's mostly how much it irritates her that he has structured his life around a football team, though she's never shown having any hobbies or interests at all — for several months and Sarah gets pregnant (failed condom). There's a lot of arguing about whether he's mature enough to be a father, whether she's planning to terminate the pregnancy, etc., and at the end, Arsenal finally wins the championship. In the celebration, Paul and Sarah reunite.

WRONG. The person Paul's clearly meant to be with is Steve — and not just because Paul is played by Colin Firth and Steve is played by Mark Strong. Partly because the premise of the movie is flawed; devotion to something is not necessarily a sign of immaturity, and also not a strictly masculine failing. (It's clear that Sarah objects to Paul's fannishness because its object is a sports team, but I wonder how different it would be if he were fannish about a band or an author or a filmmaker.) But mostly because Paul and Steve are genuinely close — they hang out regularly, have shorthand/inside jokes with each other, borrow clothing from each other, and are brothers in that peculiar sorrow of having your team disappoint you time and again.

I'm not saying you need to rewrite the movie to excise Sarah. What I'd really like is post-movie fic that works with the elements that canon itself gives us (Paul's having resigned from the school and looking for his next job and Sarah's deciding not to terminate her pregnancy) but Paul and Sarah can't/don't make it work and Paul ends up raising the kid with Steve. I'd like to see the bumps in the road as they transition from friends to lovers to family — surely it can't all be smooth [I wonder sometimes if Paul ever set his sister up with Steve], and I leave it up to you to decide who's aware of his feelings for the other one first, and which one made the first move — but would very much appreciate a happy ending.

Honestly, I could take or leave most of this show - any time spent on the senior Graveses was time lost, as far as I was concerned - but I did like the younger generation, particularly the extraordinary Isaiah. It's clear to me that getting shot was as much of a wake-up call for him as he said it was, and given that he confesses his virginity and then gives Sammy the "we could never be together" speech in season one and then spends season two unhappily entangled and brightening whenever he sees her, I think it makes sense that he's going after her. So show me what happens when Isaiah catches up with Sammy, whose career he's enabled? Can they/do they want to settle down?

What I love about this show - aside from the cast - is that Brody and Jenny fall sincerely in love and that's it. Love is an actual goal in the world of the show, and we get to see how it builds and grows and is maybe threatened every once in a while without being in real danger. And the show managed to write them as individuals who kept their personalities even while they were becoming a team. The bit that really hooked me was in a very early episode (ep 3 maybe?) in which Jenny says she hoped they'd bring out the best in each other, not the worst, and for the rest of the series you can see how much they're both changed for the better by each other. I'd love to see what happens next after the proposal with which the series ended. I'd also like to see Threepeat bonding with Brody - they've already spoken openly about their love for each other - and I think the biggest problem Mansfield would have with their wedding would be deciding whose dad he's standing in for: Jenny's or Brody's. Just give me Brody and Jenny, rapturously in love even after one extraordinary year, being fantastic and fun and themselves as newlyweds and beyond.

I have watched this show from minute one, and have always been on Team Charles - that voice! that intelligence! those twinkly eyes! - but I'm not such a fan of how much of the canonical relationship makes Liza passive as she waits for Charles to come around (both after the big reveal and after the big question). So here I'd be okay with an AU, if that's where you want to go: show me Charles/Liza as a partnership of equals! Or if you'd rather stick to canon [prior to the finale], show me how they both find fulfillment in this relationship, as step-parents to each other's daughters. I also desperately missed Diana Trout in this last season, so her comments on all of this relationship drama would be very welcome, as would Jay Malick's - it's very interesting to me that Charles and Liza have these two very good mutual friends who would have excellent perspectives on both of them.
